about me
hello, my name is Levi. I’m a mindful mover, a holistic dance- and movement pedagogue, a queer-ecological activist, a creative connector, a holistic_transdisciplinary maker, a queer, trans_non-binary being, an empathetic holder of spaces, processes and change, and a collectivist dreamer, currently based in Vienna, Austria.
my passion is to create and hold spaces, in which transformations towards more sustainable_regenerative cultures of self, body, community, relationality, activism, work, and interconnectedness with the more-than-human world can occur. always from a queer-feminist perspective.
to do so, I connect my practices and knowledges of dance, embodiment, activism, science, art and lived experience.
I’ve been dancing since I was a child, but in my twenties academia and activism moved to the foreground or my interests. I studied Sociology, International Development Studies, Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science. My focus was mainly on socio-ecological justice, queer ecologies, and community strategies to hold the emotionalities of living and dying on a multicrises planet. I struggled in grappling with these topics mostly on a theoretical level, missing the tools to process on a deeper level, which led to mental health struggles and burnout. So I got more interested in sustainable activism and started creating participatory, co-creative spaces to process and exchange together. I also gave dance, movement, and embodiment practices more space in my life through ecosomatics, a training in holistic dance- and movement pedagogy and a training in integrative bodywork. These practices allowed me to process being in these world in more integrative, holistic ways, research how we can be on this planet together differently in more embodied ways, and also accompany others in their processing. It also immensely supported me in my transitioning journey and through processing loss and grief – mentally, emotionally, physically. I see embodiment, creativity, and collective care as three key elements that allow us to stay with the trouble, or even get out of this mess. So it’s my great joy and pleasure to create and hold spaces for individuals and groups to process, practice, embody, and transform together.
